Tape recording: there were no tape machines
in studios up to the middle 1960s so all recording and editing
was done in remote channels. This is recording channel E7 in
1965 - a horrible ill-ventilated channel between S3 and S4,
with windows into their cubicles and tie-lines to enable tapes
to be played in. It had three BTR2s and a pair of Prestos,
hence the complex linking panel.
