Royal Shakespeare Theatre

The Royal Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford-on-Avon is undergoing a major transformation: the interior has been gutted and an entirely new auditorium is being constructed. So this photograph of the foyer, taken in August 1968, has some historical significance. The booking office is on the right, and at the back through the arch are the stairs to the Circle.

I suppose I should admit to a little trickery: in the original a young man is walking towards the camera: I decided his presence was no longer required and have digitally removed him.
