The so-called 'New Buildings', taken from the quad: I believe they dated from around the First World War; the woodworking shop is the first building, on the right. Fortunately out-of-sight behind around the far end are the oddly named 'Orlits', a group of five concrete classrooms. The new Science Block is behind the New Buildings - it was opened in the 1950s: the pathway to it was cut through one of the classrooms (you can see it after the first classroom). The Headmaster announced that it would be rather nice to call the pathway 'The Wynd': no-one ever used the name. The New Buildings and Orlits were demolished in 1974.
