announcer's desks were identical, and eventually there were periods
when the announcer ran the network by themselves. In the end, of
course, the network became entirely announcer-operated with the advent
of NUMISYS, Bush's first computerised playout system (christened 'Nasty
Unreliable Machine Invariably Spoils Your Schedule')..
