The Name's Bond - James Bondome
25 years back I had a colleague whose name was, genuinely, James Bond. Now we
were all too sensible to make silly remarks about it (after all I'd heard all
the stupid jokes about Wilmut by the time I was eight), but obviously James was
used to this and had had time to work out a strategy. One day one of the
Newsroom staff said to him 'It must be odd being called James Bond'. James
looked puzzled and said 'Why?'. The journalist said 'Well, because of James
Bond... you know?' James said 'No... who?'... this went on for some time until
the journalist wandered away discouraged. Well done, 007.
