Wartime in the Strand![]() ![]() You can see where windows have been covered with the brown paper sticky tape used to prevent flying glass in a bombing raid: and there are sandbags just visible on the left. The zebra crossing was covered for the filming (prewar crossings had beacons but no stripes). Though they also filmed a few shots in the underground station itself, the work above ground produced one shot, lasting about a second, panning as a fire engine drives past - you can't really see the station and the set dressing at all.
