Family history - three sisters






In a previous entry I showed a photo of my great-grandfather on my mother's side, Edward Buckle: he had three daughters, who appear in this rather charming photo of three Edwardian young ladies - my great-aunt Elizabeth, my grandmother (Caroline), and my great-aunt 'Cis' (Amy). It's just a pity that they didn't keep still!

Because the picture isn't sharp it doesn't seem worth providing a larger version: there isn't any more detail in the faces. My grandfather took the photo: I can't date it with any certainty, but it's probably around 1910 (judging by my grandmother's appearance compared with photos I do know the date of) - I think they were probably married in 1911 so this was while they were still courting.
