Sometimes everything goes wrong (4)
ne evening I had finished watching a film on video
tape (this was quite some years ago) and when it finished I dropped back to BBC2
and watched a bit of the last programme of the evening, being just too lazy to
switch it off.
When the programme finished there was a short announcement, then an Open University programme about algebra. Now, this might have been fascinating for all I know, but I never heard a word of it, because the lady announcer forgot to turn her microphone off: and the algebra program was completely obscured by her discussing a strike which was being held by BBC staff the following day with someone else in her studio. Fascinating stuff: and this went on for fifteen minutes. Obviously no-one anywhere in the system was paying any attention. I was tempted to ring in and suggest they turn the microphone off: and then I thought, 'I can't be bothered' and went to bed. Posted: Tue - October 16, 2007 at 09:13 AM by Roger Wilmut |
