Dialogue which will never die

I never saw this film, so I can't vouch for the accuracy of this story - two young ladies of my acquaintance went to a cinema showing one of the 'Mummy' films (presumably a Hammer Film). Both were always a bit inclined to giggle, but when the monster strode off into a swamp bearing the heroine kicking and screaming in his arms, and the hero stood on the edge calling out: 'Esmerelda, Esmerelda, tell him to put you down!' they became hysterical with laughter and were asked to leave.
