The Queen Elizabeth Hall and the
Purcell Room, housed in a rather ugly industrial-looking building, can
be seen behind the trees. On the right is the Royal Festival Hall,
currently closed for two years for refurbishment. The strange
construction of parallelograms on the extreme left behind the QEH is an
artwork on top of the Hayward Gallery: constructed from coloured
fluorescent tubes it lights up and night and the colours change
dependant on wind speed... it's been there for many years and hasn't
blown down yet.
